Let’s Sip Some Coffees in Bali Pulina Coffee Plantation

Bali Pulina

My friend from Jakarta came to Bali, and asked me to accompany him into the coffee plantation in Bali. He tried to write website too, about coffee and coffee cafe around the world. If you wanna check, you can click here to visit his website, or here to visit his instagram.

Actually, I am not really know about coffee. Ya, I love drink coffee, especially, when I was in university, I drink coffee pretty often for finish assignments. But, I love coffee with so much sugar. Sweet coffee, like what coffee cafe for young people’s sell nowadays. The real taste of coffee, I am not really like, lol.

And then, I know about this place, Bali Pulina, from internet. And then, we came there. That place is pretty far from Kuta, about 2 hours by car. That place is located in Ubud, and on the hill. But, during the trip, I saw so many cute art couvenir shops. I enjoyed it, even I need to wait so long until Bali Pulina.

I really love Ubud more than you know. I also have dream, one day I want to living in Ubud. I love Ubud, because it’s art city in Bali. You can see so many traditional art, and so aesthetic. We also can find so many art studio right there. And, the last reason is, Ubud is not so hot as Canggu or Kuta! Best weather for human, lol.

Back to the Bali Pulina. The price of enterance ticket is really affordable, and it’s already include coffee testers! So kind! The staff will accompany you to walking around. So many plants and trees right there, and I can felt the air is so fresh. The first thing that we can see first is, Luwak, the animal who can eat the coffee seeds, and make it tasty.

Luwak

Luwak is nocturnal animal, so they are sleeping on daylight, and active in evening. They are actually so cute! So, Luwak eat coffee seeds, and then the metabolism process makes the seeds taste good. After that, Luwak get the seeds out through the final process of digestions. And the result of that coffee called Luwak coffee.

They also have so wide coffee garden. We can see the coffee seed closer! It was my first time to see coffee seeds from the tree. Not just coffee tree, we can see cocoa tree, lemongrass tree, vanilla tree, hibiscus, banana tree, and many more. You can ask the staff if you don’t know the name of tree.

The staff brought us to the small traditional house, and we can see grandma is processed the coffee seed into the powder form by traditional way. It can takes 40 minutes.

Not just the traditional process, they also have coffee machine. It takes shorter time for process coffee seeds into the powder form. Just around 15-20 minutes.

And… the moment that we waiting for came… taste the coffees! We visited their cafe, and wow, I can’t imagine, we got so many cups of coffee!

Oh, finally I can tasted so many kind of coffees. But, actually, the taste is so good and unique! I am not really like too sour, but they have the sweet also. My favorite is coconut coffee. My friend’s favorite is Luwak coffee, because it has sour taste. Maybe, people who really loves coffee will love the sour taste of coffee.

We enjoyed the coffees while saw really good view. What a calming place!

After that, we explored Bali Pulina. They have big scary swing, lol. It so famous in Bali nowadays. We also can enjoy the view while sitting on bale (difficult to explain, it looks like bamboo pergola).

After that, my friend bought some coffee seeds for souvenir. I just played with their cute puppy.
