Chillin’ Out in Milu by Nook

Milu by Nook

So, my Japanese friend came to Bali for holiday, and asked me to having dinner together. It was his first time to visited Bali, so I need to recommend him to visit and try the authentic restaurant or cafe in Bali. Something that he can’t find in Japan, or anywhere.

Even I never come to Japan yet, but I already can guess what Japan looks like from internet, and from my Japanese friends. I think most of building in Japan use modern minimalism style, adjust with their characters, which are calm, effective, tidy, and elegant.

So, of course I didn’t recommended him restaurants with that style! I choose some restaurants with fusion style interior, and looks tropical. From 5 restaurants that I offered, he choose Milu By Nook.

Actually, there is also a restaurant that has a similar name. If you want to come, please make sure to your driver, that you want to visit Milu by Nook, located in Jalan Pantai Berawa (Pantai Berawa Street). Or please give the map to the driver. I worried he brings you to the wrong place.

And yes, the place is so cool! Even you come on the afternoon or evening, the place still so pretty. The interior use tropical style, material that they use for furnitures dominant by wood and rattan, the lighting is dimly lit with yellow ambiance. So instagramable, and really good to take photos there. If you choose the outdoor seat, you can enjoy the rice field view.

They sell international food, fusion food, also Indonesian food. Their recommendation is nasi campur. Nasi campur is traditional Balinese food, contain yellow rice, tempeh, tofu, chicken, kerupuk, and sambal. The special part is, if you are vegetarian or vegan, don’t worry! Because their menus are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free friendly.

I already tried the nasi campur, and it was good! As Indonesian, I still love it even it’s not really spicy. But as an foreigner, that taste would so perfect. They already adjust with foreigner’s taste. So, if you want to taste Indonesian traditional food, but you can’t handle spiciness, their menu will so perfect for you.

I really love the ambiance. I can chillin’ out with my friend for couple hours, enjoyed the food, also the rice field view. My friend also love it, because he can’t enjoy outdoor restaurant with rice field view like that in Japan. Really good moment and experience that he can bring to Japan.
